Alex is a very active 7 year-old boy who loves to play ball and would love to attend The Arms of Jesus School since his sister is already studying there.
Alex lives with his parents. His father is Jesús; he is 32 and works as a farmhand; but he has alcohol problems so he does not find work all the time and as a result, the family is very poor. His mother Maria Florentina is 31 and works at home; but when her husband is drinking she finds other work outside the home in or to earn money to provide for her family.
Alex has 4 siblings: Aura who is 11 and is in fifth grade at school, Lesbia who is 8 and is in second grade; her two brothers are IsaÃas aged 4 and Oscar David aged two years.
They all live in a very poor house made out of old tin walls and roof with dirt floor and they use firewood to cook. They plant beans and corn to eat.
