Alex is six years old and lives in Parramos

Alex is a shy boy, very quiet but also very smart. He helps his mother in the house sweeping and also his father in the fields. In his spare time he loves to play soccer. He would like to attend school so that when he grows up, he can become a doctor.

Alex lives with his parents: father José Antonio Car who is thirty years old and works in the fields when he can find employment; and mother Delia Guadalupe Ichaj Mendez who is twenty years old and works at home on the chores. Alex has three siblings: Raul Antonio who is four years old, Adriana del Rosario who is two years old, and Juan Pablo who is still a baby.

Alex's parents are very responsible and are concerned about the welfare of their children. They would like to see them get a good education but since José cannot find a steady job, they cannot afford to send Alex to school at this time without some assistance.

The family home was donated and built by the Arms of Jesus Children's Mission; they have electrical service and running water; they cook all of their meals over a wood fire.
