Adis Madali is in first grade and she is 9 years old. She lives in Parramos, a cool place in the mountains, with her mother Flora and her brother, 4 years old and a sister, 2 years old. Her father left them a year ago.

Her mother is the only person who works to support the family. Flora works every day from Monday to Saturday as a house keeper for another family.

With the money she earns she pays the rent on the home in which they live. Their home has a cement floor and walls made of tin.
